Kasim Sulton Joins Me
Live on the Radio

Saturday night I was a guest on "The Blue Plate Special" with Kasim Sulton. This is the third time I have done the show and I always have a great time with the host Greg Guzman.

The show is produced at NPR station WUWF in Pensacola, Florida but is webcast worldwide live every Saturday night.

Greg dedicated the entire two-hour show to playing cuts from my lastest releases "Unstoppable" and "Evidence" as well as a demo of a song from my upcoming Sounding Rick record written for blues giant Sonny Rhodes called "Pain". I also played three new songs on acoustic guitar that will be on the next record.

The highlight of the night was when my good friend Kasim Sulton called in. You can listen to the segment with Kasim by clicking here http://www.kasiminfo.com/2006/SoundingRick.mp3

He is doing a small solo tour over the next couple of months and I am excited about it. Although he has spent most of his career making others sound great (Todd, Meat Loaf, Joan Jett, Hall & Oates, etc.), Kasim is a great songwriter and singer who deserves his own light! If you get a chance, don't miss his solo tour! You can check his dates by going to www.kasiminfo.com .

Apple Studios in Tampa

While in Tampa last weekend for my niece's wedding, I had a chance to get together with a very dear friend George Valaes, for an evening of jamming.

George and I played in a three piece band together back when we were 17. He and I even relocated from Tampa to Pittsburgh in hopes of finding success in New York when we were 19. You can find old photos of him in the photo section(and in the collage in "Unstoppable"). You will notice in the photo that he is holding his 1974 Travis Bean bass (same one we used back in the day).

After over four hours of fun, we resurrected some of our old tunes in hopes of tracking them for a future release.

George brought along another old friend Mike Cusumano, to sit in on the drums. According to Mike, we just missed Cheap Trick who use the same rehearsal studio.
